For an independent beach day, head to Pointe Maurice for the public Leisure Island shuttle to Masala Jetty. A catamaran or speedboat excursion is a different choice, combining the crossing with its own route, stops and meal arrangements.
Choose the boat service first, then arrange road transport to its actual departure point. Pointe Maurice, Cabane du Pêcheur and Pointe des Régates are not interchangeable boarding locations.
A direct island crossing or a day on the water?
The public Leisure Island shuttle suits a visit centred on time ashore. You travel to the island, choose your own activities and meal, then take the return shuttle. A full excursion makes the journey part of the day, with sailing, a river visit or a wider southeast route.
Hotel transport is the road journey to the boat. It is separate from a boat crossing, even when both are sold together. If you arrange your own taxi, give the driver the named jetty for your service.
The public shuttle: Pointe Maurice to Masala Jetty
The official Leisure Island shuttle leaves the public jetty at Pointe Maurice and arrives at Masala Jetty on Ile aux Cerfs. It operates every 30 minutes from 09:30 to 18:00, with service back to Pointe Maurice. Leisure Island itself lists daily opening hours of 09:00–18:00. Pointe Maurice has a secured parking area with CCTV.
Golf boats also leave Pointe Maurice, but go to the Golf Club’s jetty. Their separately published service starts at 06:40, runs every 20 minutes and continues until the last golf guest departs. Those hours do not extend the public Masala Jetty shuttle. Use the Leisure Island service for a beach visit, rather than borrowing the golf timetable.

Trou d’Eau Douce excursion departures
Organised excursions around Trou d’Eau Douce use several boarding places. SirenaMoris’s five-island trip meets at Cabane du Pêcheur. Atlantis directs guests to the beach opposite Green Island Restaurant. The separate SirenaMoris booking option names the Debarcadere fish landing station.
Save your excursion’s map pin before leaving your accommodation. These departures are operator meeting points, rather than stops on the public Pointe Maurice–Masala shuttle. If you want the wider route from Cabane du Pêcheur, the speedboat guide shows the meeting map and trip details.
Mahébourg for a southeast sailing day

Blue Safari’s catamaran boards at Pointe des Régates jetty in Mahébourg and returns to that jetty. Look for the Croisières Australes Blue Safari team in branded uniforms. Hotel transport is excluded, so arrange the road journey in both directions.
This is a sailing excursion approaching Ile aux Cerfs from the southeast, rather than a direct Leisure Island shuttle. The catamaran page shows the departure map. Use the check-in and departure instructions on your booking confirmation to arrange your taxi pickup.
From Grand Baie, Flic en Flac or your hotel
From a hotel elsewhere in Mauritius, the first leg is a road journey to the east or southeast departure. Freshverde offers a separately priced hotel-transfer option. Its instructions place pickup at hotel reception, with the guide wearing a Freshverde Holiday uniform, 0–60 minutes before the activity starts. Coverage depends on the address area shown when booking.
Paradis Discover’s transfer option covers the north-to-east region. TML separates boat tickets from hotel transport, and its transfer option requires at least two participants. For an independent shuttle visit, arrange your own transport to Pointe Maurice and a pickup there after the return crossing.
Return from Masala Jetty, then continue by road
The public shuttle returns from Masala Jetty to Pointe Maurice within its published 09:30–18:00 operating window. Ask the jetty team for the final return boarding time when you arrive. The closing hour is not an individual reservation or a guaranteed last sailing time.
For an organised excursion, rejoin your crew at the meeting place and time they give you before free time ashore. An independent taxi should collect you at the mainland jetty where your own boat returns. For ideas on lunch and activities between crossings, use the island day guide.
